School Age children
I have trained with The Developing Self to teach the Alexander Technique to primary and secondary age school children and students in tertiary education.
It is known that sitting in chairs for long periods of time can lead to the loss of natural posture from an early age.
Freedom in movement enhances our ability to learn. The increased use of mobile phones and screen work means that young people are increasingly experiencing neck and back pain problems.
The Alexander Technique helps children and young adults:
- Learn to stop and think about what they are going to do & how they approach everyday activities
- Gain better understanding of how their developing bodies work
- Become more confident & balanced in themselves
- Have more control over movement in everyday activities
- Develop the ability to open up to learning and creativity
