The Alexander Technique has been taught in Music and Drama colleges for many years. This educational method is used to improve performance by teaching performers to reduce unnecessary muscular and mental effort with consciously coordinated responses. This helps the performer address common concerns such as stage fright, concentration in performance, practice without injury, relaxation, warm ups and the performer/audience relationship.
Constructive awareness brings ease into performance and can enhance creativity and artistic expression. Creativity can truly emerge when freed from anxiety, limiting beliefs and interference from unnecessary tension.
