Alexander Technique - for Young People
WHAT IS THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE?

Restoring natural posture, health and wellbeing, balance and ease of mobility.

The Alexander Technique is a simple practical method effective self-help skill that enables to maintain natural poise in all our activities. Research has shown that learning the Alexander Technique can reduce back and neck pain, muscle tension and stiffness. Breathing problems and stress related conditions such as Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) may also improve. Learning the Alexander Technique is recommended by the NHS in the NICE Guidance for people living with Parkinson’s Disease.

Learning the Alexander Technique is fun and you embark on an interesting journey of self discovery while you learn about your hidden neuromuscular tension habits. It is gradually changing these habits that can lead to an overall reduction in muscular tension, easier movement patterns, improved general health, breathing and feelings of wellbeing.  We learn to look after ourselves in every day activities such as walking, bending, reading, sitting, using the computer, playing sport, playing musical instruments and singing. Its an investment in our health since we improve our functioning and postural conditions in every day life. People of any age can learn the technique and it is a skill for life increasing our enjoyment of activities and move, enabling us with freedom and ease throughout the stages of life.
